Born in Leeds, raised in Weymouth and now settled in Ham straddling the Kingston/Richmond border in SW London. I love walking, theatre, architecture, politics, radio drama, pubs and reading comics.
Let’s hope that the billions being spent on AI will lead to walking directions that take you straight there rather than finding unnecessary detours.

I've walked 20% of the roads in Greater London with CityStrides, that's 7,938 roads. That leaves a loot of London still to be discovered.

I have now walked every street in Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames (again).

My mission to watch every performance of a Philip Ridley play in London continued with The Poltergeist at @arcolatheatre.bsky.social.
Ridley has a distinctive style which appeals to me immensely and The Poltergeist was yet another great example of why that is.

I went to see Emma at @rosetheatre2008.bsky.social with modest expectations given the source material so it was a pleasant surprise to discover that it is cleverly adapted, acted superbly, staged well and was so utterly entertaining. Also good to overhear so many school kids praising it afterwards.

I am still determined to see every production of a Philip Ridley play that I can, so a revival of The Pitchfork Disney at King's Head Theatre Islington was a no-brainer, and it proved to be an excellent production of an excellent play.

📢 All to London on 11 October!

In three weeks we reach the tragic milestone of two years of genocide in Gaza. Let's make this national march for Palestine the biggest one yet, and call for Britain to finally end its shameful support for Israel's war crimes.

As a fan of architecture I have followed some of the other walking routes by @modernistestates.bsky.social and now that we're getting a local one for Richmond and Ham I'll be getting that one too!

For some reason, the one thing that BBC thinks you really need to know about @zackpolanski.bsky.social following his emphatic election win on clear left-wing policies is that he used to be an actor. Admittedly I did not know that but I care even less.

There are pub crawls and there are seven pubs along 18km of the Thames in a joyous 11 hours of interesting talks and good company.

The deliberate and relentless killing of Palestinian journalists is sickening beyond words — and is a desperate attempt to silence the truth about Israel’s ongoing crimes against humanity.

Shame on all those who empowered Israel to murder with impunity.

St Paul’s and Barbican as seen from an apartment that I will never be able to afford, even with a good lottery win (I don’t do the lottery).

I know my rating has fallen a bit in recent months but I still feel insulted by @chess.com offering me an M1 puzzle.

I am always extremely interested in any production of a Eugene O’Neil play or any play starring Ruth Wilson; A Moon for the Misbegotten at @almeida.co.uk has both which made it unmissable. It is unsurprisingly excellent.

Yet again the news from Palestine is beyond terrible. Israel is the most evil country that has ever existed yet the West (mostly) continues to support.

Action

Whatever reason @ecotricity.bsky.social has for estimating that I used no electricity last month is erroneous. Utility billing is not that hard and there is no excuse for errors like this.
