It’s still remarkable that Disney produced - and released - this segment in 1940. A horror short that should rank with its Universal monster movie contemporaries… The animation is lush and experimental, and really shows off the Disney special animated effects team…

My college mentor had me look at different artists' original inked pages- scuff marks, whiteout and all- and that completely changed my perception of what it means to create a piece of work that is intended for reproduction.
The finished product isn't ever as clean as you think.

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

Man the imposter syndrome is POWERFUL today
I keep getting this feeling that I don't know enough about the things I want to draw in order to draw them, but I'm not sure what "knowing enough" would even look like.
