Your power bill has tripled and you can't afford new PC parts just to create this.

Six months ago, Battlefield's director also said they'd only use genAI behind the scenes and generated images would never make it to the final game. Guess what just happened?

That's why I'll never trust Larian or developers who say that they use it only 'a little' and not for the final product.

The players clearly didn't like that interview with Larian's CEO.

I hate when people use the term "human artists" because it implies there are other kinds of artists. And no, the diffusion model isn't an artist.

consider my feedback: i loved working at @larianstudios.com until AI. reconsider and change your direction, like, yesterday. show your employees some respect. they are world-class & do not need AI assistance to come up with amazing ideas.

I more or less won't buy his next game.

The only way to fight this is to cause financial pain for Disney. They're especially vulnerable to losing Disney+ subscriptions - cancel it and just pirate Disney's stuff.

If they're okay with OpenAI's piracy, then it's morally correct to do the same to them.
BREAKING: Disney is making a $1 billion investment in OpenAI, and will allow its iconic characters to be on the company's Sora AI video generator.

Here is a French Christmas ad for a supermarket. It has infinitely better look, story, and message. It actually sparks joy in you rather than leaving you depressed, unlike Coca-Cola and McDonald's AI ads.

An analyst cites AI slop as one of the reasons why the new Call of Duty underperformed. Hopefully, other CEOs will learn the lesson. 🙄

In other news, OpenAI's Sora has dropped out of the top 20 most-downloaded apps in the US. In Japan, it's fallen out of the top 100.

The only place where it's still doing relatively well is Canada, where it's currently ranked 13th.
For the first time ever, ChatGPT’s App Store revenue declined month over month.

Are those the 'economic headwinds' that Sam Altman was talking about? His promises were based on the assumption of never-ending growth, not 5% revenue drops, so funding $1 trillion AI projects might get tricky.

1/3 Massive efforts are being done to ensure states do not regulate GenAI.

Regulations like CA’s AB-412. A transparency bill that terrifies Big Tech!

On Dec. 8th, there is a major hearing on this bill.

We need as many folks to show up! Come join in support of creatives!

Good news!

You can now quickly reduce the amount of slop in your recommendations on Steam by adding Ubisoft to the ignored creators list.

Court documents show that the CEO of Krafton, an "AI-first company," was asking ChatGPT how to weasel out of paying the bonuses his employees rightfully earned.

He fired the studio heads and delayed the game so the studio wouldn't meet the deadline.

Years back, we were told that genAI would make games better and cheaper.

Now we have $60 games with TikTok voices and slop art featuring melted faces.
Thanks for saving me 60 bucks on Anno 117, Ubisoft.

Disclosing AI use days before release is the new "patch in microtransactions after release" tactic huh.

Boycotts work.

Duolingo has lost 60% of its value since its CEO announced it's now an "AI-first" company.

Musk did the same thing.

Billionaires be like: "Low birth rates will end civilization." and lobby to ban normal porn.

And a month later they launch a pornbot fine-tuned for addiction.

Just heard Drew Struzan passed away 😞 His incredible work has given me and countless others so much awe, joy and inspiration!

I had posters of his work as a teen, I began using color pencils because I thought he used them too. Always inspired by him. Just utterly heart broken.

RIP Drew Struzan.
