I like writing letters.
AI companies try really hard to make it another culture war issue, but AI isn't that popular on the right either. Notch recently said that AI is complete shit forced on everyone and compared it to Sweet Baby Inc.

I would love to find a way to connect @SenSanders , @RoKhanna and @AOC to artists orgs and unions who are fighting GenAi companies for their original sin: taking our creative works to build their models without our consent, credit or compensation.

Especially with them hosting events like these

Finished drawing: Sakura from Street Fighter 🌸
I drew her a couple of years ago and she became pretty popular, so I wanted to bring her back with a different skin this time.

Now, even EA stock is dropping because apparently, some investors are spooked that the Saudis might cancel the deal because of the AI threat.
For months, EA stock had been flat, hovering around the valuation from the buyout deal, but it has now started dropping.

So the stock market is in an interesting position: software, gaming, and data stocks are plummeting because the market is afraid of AI, and AI stocks are plummeting because the market doesn't think they can be profitable with those expenditures.

I opened a V Gen account! But there are still a lot of setting items, so it's hard to open a commission. There is also an OC exchange service calling VSONA, Also, should I prepare a setting picture?I tried to summarize the character explanation as well as a memo in the ALT text and put it on VSONA.

The California State University system spent $16.9 million last year giving ChatGPT to all students, faculty, and staff. We are asking the CSU chancellor not to renew the contract with OpenAI when it expires.

Anyone can sign the petition — link below!
The CSU/OpenAI contract is set to expire June 30, 2026.

Sign this petition: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/cancel-chatgpt-edu-invest-in-humans/ for the CSU NOT to renew the contract and to use the savings to protect jobs at CSU campuses facing layoffs.

We're not anti-tech, we're anti-theft. If the future of “innovation” depends on stealing creators’ work without asking or paying, that’s not progress - it's stealing, and we shouldn’t accept it. #StealingIsntInnovation www.stealingisntinnovation.com/

It's a good change, probably triggered by devs gaming the system like Embark Studios. In the Finals, they clearly mention that they use AI voices in the game. In Arc Raider, the disclaimer makes it sound like there is no AI-generated content in the game at all.

Comic-con deciding to allow GenAi imagery in the art show —giving valuable space to GenAi users to show slop right NEXT to actual artists who worked their asses off to be there— is a disgrace!

A tone deaf decision that rewards and normalizes exploitative GenAi against artists in their own spaces!

I hate when people use the term "human artists" because it implies there are other kinds of artists. And no, the diffusion model isn't an artist.

The only way to fight this is to cause financial pain for Disney. They're especially vulnerable to losing Disney+ subscriptions - cancel it and just pirate Disney's stuff.

If they're okay with OpenAI's piracy, then it's morally correct to do the same to them.
BREAKING: Disney is making a $1 billion investment in OpenAI, and will allow its iconic characters to be on the company's Sora AI video generator.
