I have my first nano-fiction out on Quotidian Bagatelle! A Foofaraw indie zine with the most delectable name I've ever heard.

My story's a quick bite, too. A morbid bite, but it's good for ya :p I promise

My story won first in N3F's Amateur Short Story Contest- imposter syndrome begone! BLOOD REMEMBERS THE PAIN had several rejections elsewhere, but it reached the right audience. It's not only my most lore heavy story accepted, but it honors a baby cousin I lost. Let her name be immortalized in ink.

I have Work With Indies to thank for my first job in the indie game space as a Narrative Designer. My life changed after that. I hope this site helps other amateurs like myself find their footing in this turbulent industry.
Some (more) good news:

Our annual letter (below) shared that we saw more jobs in 25 than 24 after 2 years of declines.

We're only a few days in & I'm absolutely knocking on wood rn, but January is up 53% YoY so far!

If there's light at the end of this tunnel, it just got brighter.

Cool fact alert!

'Stationery' paper/books/envelopes comes from medieval stationers-booksellers who stayed put instead of roaming around like other merchants.

No one wanted to lug around a bunch of books, so they set up permanent 'stations.'

I love how history is woven into our language.😁📚

Thinking about this lately. Seems the only way to protect things is to set the bar so high that any attempt to remake it is laughed into the ground. We're seeing that already with One Punch Man, & might see it again with Frieren Season 2. If you make something perfect it'll speak for itself forever.

We’re taking a holiday hiatus, see you in 2026.

Turn those lingering words in your noggin' into a nano/micro fic!

I sat on a bunch of words I saved for short fiction or songs. Sentences and phrases I conjured up daydreaming. I know you have some 🫵. Here's a way to share it so they don't collect dust.

Write for readers like you. Don't write for an award.

(But those are a bonus).
Reading over 6,000 short stories taught me this: many writers are trying to impress editors. The best ones are trying to entertain readers. Huge difference.
