Germany's breads ARE wonderful. The flour there is different plus they know what they are doing. #NationalBreadDay #FoodTravelChat
Q1: In love with baguette when in France, and Panettone this time around in Italy (if it counts). But apart from that, Germany has clearly some of the best breads in the world 😋. @ourtastytravels.bsky.social @adventuringwoman.bsky.social @realfoodtraveler.com

Q1: There were definitely interesting breads in China. It took effort to decipher the Chinese and translated descriptions. Kept my distance from quite a few. #foodtravelchat

A1: Some of the best breads (and butter) I've had were on @vikingcruises ships. I don't eat that much bread in my day-to-day life but I ate it with every meal on our back-to-back cruises. #FoodTravelChat www.realfoodtraveler.com/know-before-...

A1: I love pickles (especially ones with sweet and sour), and I love kimchi but never been able to get on with sauerkraut. I'm a super taster (sounds great, is a monumental PITA) which means I'm overly sensitive to bitter (and that bleeds a little into sour) so am a bit picky!

A2: I'll always try pickles and fermented foods when travelling. Had some great pickles (many countries) and kimchi (S Korea) of all kinds but will also be happy if I never ingest fermented shark (Iceland) ever again! 1/2

Sour, crunchy, vinegary Polish dill pickles in Poland or FROM Poland (many brands claim to be Polskie ogórki but are from anywhere but Poland & are not the traditional vinegar, garlic, dill, horseradish brine), & with pretty much anything.

Ooo! I'd totally try feta-stuffed olives in a martini! #FermentedFoods #FoodTravelChat
Q3: feta or garlic stuffed olives in my martini. Best reason to have a martini. Local bar used to have a kimchi martini. It delivered as advertised, but wasn't for me. #foodtravelchat

A2: I love a crispy dill pickle to eat on its own and bread and butter pickle slices in ham sandwiches.

I also like kimchi with fried rice and sauerkraut on its own. I often have a couple of forkfuls of sauerkraut when I need to tide myself over until dinner-the big flavor satiates #FoodTravelChat

Yum. Those pickles look nice and crispy and fresh. I was just at a restaurant that had a giant jar of whole dill pickles. They were such an unappealing color. Does anyone eat those? #FoodTravelChat
A2 Some friends went to Bucharest this weekend. The couldn’t join them, but the first photo I see from them on arrival. I wish I was there for some pickles. #foodtravelchat

Q1: mmm... kimchi. I remember buying a 1kg plastic bag of it in Seoul. I asked if they had any smaller ones. Nope. #foodtravelchat

A3: I LOVE olives with pimento in a martini (at least three) but not the juice (a dirty version). When I was a kid, I wanted to have a martini like my parents so I would put an olive in a 7-Up! Somehow, it was good. #FoodTravelChat
