Please don't rely on ChatGPT for any information that's life or death 😭
One of the swimmers had used ChatGPT to consult the tide times: “I made the mistake of using ChatGPT for research to see when the low tide was."

Job searching after 5 years in higher ed is a strange one because you end up having done so many different things in your role, whilst also being forced into niche brackets with no progression, so it's hard to know what suits you.

Thank goodness I still have my freelance work to hand

It's honestly magic to have found a second career where this is both true and rewarding/rewarded. Opening a million tabs to discover why some code works/doesn't feels as fun (to me, anyway) as falling down a research hole for a play.

Christ, some journos really do just need to say SOMETHING, even when they have no clue and have not spoken to anyone who knows and/or understood what they were told 🙄

The unfortunate thing for WeTransfer is that even if they have removed specific clauses from their T&C's, their intentions are now clear.

They've made it clear what they're interested in and what they think of other people's content.

They will find a way to sneak it back in.

If this is accurate, WeTransfer is unusable for professional creative work. Would violate most work-for-hire contracts to share copyrighted material with a third party like this.
Bye forever, WeTransfer.

WeTransfer just changed their TOS giving themselves permission to train AI on any content you transfer and produce derivative works based on content you transfer that they are allowed to monetize and you are not allowed payment for.

Stop using WeTransfer.

Not that the left need further evidence, but looks like being woke means being a normal, considerate person.

Who knew.

Elon knew too, that's why this happened.
If you're wondering what happened with Grok overnight, it ended up referring to itself as MechaHitler before being switched off.

Pro-tip: if you're building something to randomise Shakespeare plays, make sure you test it with someone who knows the histories, and will therefore spot immediately that, er, half the characters are (unintentionally) missing. Thanks @realbengilbert.bsky.social!
