Peter Gabriel had no business going this hard on the Wall-E Soundtrack.

Would be worth making one of those joke videos about the producers' reaction in the studio the first time they hear it ๐Ÿ˜

We've been making art and writing for 70,000+ years.... putting it online in 25 years is a bit of an ask.
I'm still shocked when people ask, "aren't all archives online now" ... no, far from it. Most of the best stuff is buried away in dusty files in the most unexpected places.

Craft gives us tools, technology and the built environment , I'm not undervaluing it โ€” it just isn't art.

(I will say I do miss having Alastair Reynolds on here, he always linked really good SF and astrophysics stuff but he's been away since roughly 2019/2020 - still publishing, though! :D

I can only imagine the audience Neal Stephenson would attract - good lord ๐Ÿ˜†

I miss Pterry most of all though :'(

I would hope that for the types of SF authors I follow โ€” yourself , Tade, @aptshadow.bsky.social , Martha Wells etc that it carries a nice number of fun experiences without any real toxicity ,having a nice sized community of enthusiasts is a bit of a balancing act ๐Ÿซข

A light trim of those excess billions at standard tax rates of 30-40% (what everyone else oahs) would completely transform the world.

As it stands they pay more like 0.4 or 0.004%
