Happy to announce new work by Postdoc Fellow Yu-Sheng Yeh & @razanilab.bsky.social showing natural sugar #trehalose (known #autophagy #TFEB inducer) improves #obesity #metabolism. Caveat: it is ineffective by oral route & KO of gut enzyme #trehalase doesn't help.

Is dietary #protein and #mTOR good for skeletal muscle health or not? At least for #sarcopenia in elderly it is paradoxically harmful and enhancing #BCAA catabolism is protective. Interesting work in @natureaging.bsky.social by lab of Prof. Tao Li @ Sichuan University.
