I’ve had time to read Danish historian Bent Blüdnikow’s book on two Jewish merchants and diplomats from the 18th century. Really a spectacular account of early modern international networks. From Morocco to Copenhagen. It’s fantastic but based on solid historical method.

A good six months ago the Danish Stock Exchange from 1624 went up in flames. For me, the fire marked the start of a disseminated frenzy. Suddenly everybody needed an 18th and 19th business- and cultural historian. Wired experience. History matters! At least the fire made that clear. #history #bushiz
