When President Trump first deployed the National Guard, he said the troops would help tamp down on violent crime in D.C.

But their presence has largely been symbolic, outside of several controversial incidents.

What happens now that a federal judge has ruled the deployment unlawful?
Federal judge: National Guard deployment in DC is ‘unlawful’
The 2,300 Guardsmen aren’t headed home just yet, though.

Sending love and condolences to the families impacted by today’s tragic incident. 💔

But let’s be clear — flooding our streets with more federal troops is NOT the answer. DC knows how to govern DC. We don’t need federal overreach or political stunts that put our residents at risk.

Great news: DC government will cover any SNAP gap in November with local funds. Great news from the courts: the feds can't shut off SNAP.
The federal government's decision to unlawfully withhold SNAP funding will leave thousands in DC at risk of hunger, thousands of children & seniors without food on the table.

We compiled a list of Ward 1 food aid resources. Please share with neighbors in need.

The Trump administration’s decision to gut the Office of Special Education—leaving just three staff—is cruel and unacceptable.

Over 7 million children depend on these services. Disability rights are human rights, not “Democrat programs.”

We must stand with families and fight back. 💪🏾 #SpecialEd
