"Poor" Sam Altman. He says he's "politically homeless". Sam, feel free to open your Hawaii estate, or your mega-mansion in San Francisco, or better yet, both, to the true homeless who don't have a roof over their head this 4th of July. And school them on the "compounding magic of capitalism".
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says he's 'politically homeless' in July 4 post bashing Democrats
"We should encourage people to make tons of money and then also find ways to widely distribute wealth and share the compounding magic of capitalism," he wrote.

I worked in credit risk at Merrill Lynch during the run up to the 2008 financial crisis. Its echoes pound my head reading @edzitron.com's amazing newsletter. I used to leave meetings with traders thinking "either these guys are way smarter than me...or we are screwed!" We know how that turned out.
My final newsletter of 2025: We're in The Enshittifinancial Crisis, the fourth stage of enshittification, where companies turn on their shareholders. Unprofitable, unsustainable AI threatens future of venture capital, private equity and the markets themselves.

Netflix made a bold promise that streaming would be cheaper and better than what existed before. It broke that promise to cash in on its audience.

If it captures Warner Discovery, it would not just remake a major studio, but continue degrading culture by further commercializing it.
Netflix can’t be allowed to buy Warner Discovery
It would be the next step in the degradation of culture to serve commercial ends

lawmakers need to rein in this continual expansion of dynamic pricing, it got ridiculous long ago and is becoming obscene
Yeah, the "dynamic pricing" in big box stores is the same. Depending on who is looking at the tag, time of day, etc. the price for items can literally change from the shelf to the register. 😤 Freaking DISNEY is even going to start using it! deadline.com/2025/11/disn...
