So the United States will only use empty warehouses to house people it wants to terrorize, not people it wants to shelter from the cold.

We really are not a very good-natured country.

There’s a whole argument this comes from … but,

THIS 👇🏻🔥👇🏻🔥👇🏻
What is the point of being a leader if you don’t have a moral vision of the America to which you will ”lead” people? Obviously you need to tap into fundamental psychological needs and desires, and not tell people to go eff themselves and their concerns, but leaders lead. they present a moral vision

Performative Political Pandering to score ‘points’ with the press.
What the FUCK is wrong with Senate Democrats?
Democrats on the Judiciary Committee keep decrying nominees as unqualified extremists. They also keep voting to turn those nominees into life-tenured federal judges.

Why? 🤔

NEW: President Donald Trump suggested he would issue an executive order attempting to impose a nationwide photo ID requirement for voting, a requirement to show proof of citizenship for registration, and a ban on mail voting ahead of the 2026 midterms. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Trump: ‘There will be Voter I.D. for the Midterm Elections, whether approved by Congress or not!’
"I have searched the depths of Legal Arguments not yet articulated or vetted on this subject, and will be presenting an irrefutable one in the very near future," wrote Trump, who is not a lawyer.

The New York Times just launched a new "newsletter about the law and the courts." They are calling it "The Docket."

The Times may not care that Democracy Docket has been publishing "On the Docket" and "Daily Docket" for years, but I believe our 400,000 subscribers might.

More on this tomorrow.

By the way, where is Maduro? At this point shouldn’t the Trump Administration provide “proof of life”?

It’s a bee-you-tee-full (as my high school English teacher would have said) day down here in chemtrail land, where the FAA unilaterally decided to close down the airports while CBP shot down a party ballon with a ‘high energy’ weapon.

A yard work day, for sure!

Ellison: "It felt like we were being occupied by the federal govt, & I started returning to reading about the Boston Massacre. How did those Bostonians feel when a far away govt in England had imperial troops marching all over their city, harassing & abusing the citizenry. That's kind of how I felt"

Republican fascists will tell you that the people in parkas and bathrobes are domestic terrorists who threaten our way of life and the armed paramilitary thugs who are terrorizing them with kidnapping and gassing and beatings and murder are legal officers who ensure our peace and safety.

Does Johnson hear himself?!?

Why would we NOT encourage people to exercise their FIRST Amendment rights?!?

Why would that EVER necessarily involve putting oneself “in harm’s way”?!?

Who is the source of harm here?!?
RON JOHNSON: Did you ever encourage people to go out there and exercise their First Amendment rights?

KEITH ELLISON: I freely admit being in favor of the First Amendment

There is no clearer example of looking at the world through the wrong end of the telescope than this … right here.
Ron Johnson to Keith Ellison: "Two people are dead because you encouraged them to put themselves into harm's way! And now you are exploiting those two martyrs. You ought to feel damn guilty about it. Yeah, sit there and smirk. Smirk. It's sick! It's despicable. You disgust me."

“Protect our beer”?!?

What fucking planet did I wake up on today?!?
Rep. Brian Steil: "I flew home to my home state of Wisconsin, went to buy a 6 pack a beer, the clerk asked for my ID, confirmed it, and then I was allowed to buy the beer. I just think it's nuts that we protect our beer more than our ballots."

Soooo … because the ‘acting’ ICE Director says I should not believe what I see in the videos filmed and provided to media by observers I should feel perfectly safe in my person …

Which is why, at 73, I now double-check to make certain I have ID when I walk out the door and into the world outside.
Rep. Swalwell: I met with a woman who works as a cashier at a grocery store, she said "when I get off my shift at midnight, if somebody rolls up in a van with no identification, how do I know who they are?"

And … once again, ‘Gym’ Jordan turns a blind eye/ear as the Speech or Debate Clause apparently shields a ‘witness’ who is not covered by it.
Bondi is again granted time by Republicans to attack the previous Democratic questioner, in this case Jasmine Crockett, but Crockett doesn't take it without trying to fight back. She then leaves the hearing as Bondi continues to smear her.

Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."
