Heartfelt sympathy. He reminds me of our Lefty, brother of Pancho. As with the song, Pancho left us first; then Lefty, in late 2022. It still hurts.
But we now have Hercules (left) and Atlas (right) to keep us on our toes:

Loaf #2 popped out of the hotbox less than an hour later. The crust close-up shows those lovely little bubbles that are the source of the crackling sounds as the loaves cool. Bakers in Montreal once told me that that sound is the bread ‘singing’ its siren-song.

Today’s morning bake: #sourdough tart cherry walnut cinnamon and cardamom bread. Imagine it with really good cheddar cheese.

I think it’s just THE shiny object of the moment.
The masses *love* shiny objects: bread and circuses to take their minds off the things to which no one wants them paying attention.

This morning’s loaf, sliced open. I’m thinking a light toasting, some garlic rubbed on one side, and a little olive oil poured on will make it a wonderful side for our soup tonight.

The bread elves had the hotbox going very early this morning. Each loaf is about 750g of #sourdough lusciousness. Gonna have some with lentil & kale soup later today.
