When I was growing up, my parents kept a couple of hand made signs on their dining room wall as decoration. One said “Ask and ye shall receive.” and the other said “A rejected opportunity to give is a lost opportunity to receive.” I’ve been thinking about those a lot lately.

The art of the soundtrack as mix tape (The Crow, Tank Girl, Cruel Intentions) has been replaced for tracks written for the movie or just orchestral scores and I hate it. I want B-sides from every popular band on soundtracks. I want someone curating it to put crazy combinations together. I miss it.

I was reminded today that this year will mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence. In my humble opinion, every patriotic American should take this as an opportunity to reflect on our common values and fight against the fascism trying to take over.

As a dog person, I can’t understand how anybody could see them as property. They’re more like magical little beings with their own quirks and personalities. I like to say “dogs are people too”, same with cats for that matter.

In addition to everything going on in the country, the whole Nancy Guthrie situation has me freaked out. I can’t even focus on work. The new photos that they released are chilling. As much as I hope that she is still alive, it looks more bleak with each passing day. I hope they find her soon.
