Another Sunday listening to a sermon on the…well Sermon on the Mount and if last week’s passage felt like something every person on Facebook needed to hear, hearing what Jesus said about murder, insulting people, and forgiveness? I want to blast those verses on repeat with a megaphone.

I thought I didn't like Castle Rat after streaming their music, but after watching the video for "Wizard" I think I was just missing a big part of the experience. And not just because Riley Pinkerton is hot.

I didn’t know that’s what that word means. That makes that one use of it in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels make a lot more sense. I just thought it meant “idiot”.

This is what Dietrich Bonhoeffer condemned as “cheap grace”, the idea that were forgiven our sins and then we do whatever we like. While some might interpret that as a license to indulge in booze or sex or whatever, don’t forget that pride, malice, and cruelty towards others are sins.

I also watched a YouTuber say yesterday that MAGA’s association with certain celebrities is the same as the nihilism he believes in: that nothing you do matters because either 1) there is no afterlife or 2) you can just pray a prayer
