A quick FYI: They have *just* relaunched the online NPR shop with bunches of new stuff, plus some throwbacks and, of course, the Tiny Desk hoodie. So if you are that kind of public media person, there’s some stuff to check out! shopnpr.org

So I saw the last video Malcolm Jamal-Warner recorded & he was saying, no matter how hard find a reason to smile, & if you can't smile, be a reason for somebody else to smile. That reminded me of my grandma's voicemail message "Make it a good day, if not for you, than for somebody else."

Pseudo corporate work environment: I’m “out of pocket” the week of July 4th.

Why yes, i will be out of pocket in the sense of out of office, and yes hopefully I will be out of pocket in the black way in my personal celebration of my freedom

Hey #Booksky if you’re in the US and looking to step away from the zon for physical books can I highly recommend Thrift Books?

They donate and partner with non-profits to support school libraries in underserved areas, and prison libraries. Plus, the book prices are *very good*

I am kind (clear, direct, honest), but I’m not always nice. Clarity is kindness. You will always know who I am and where I stand. No confusion or chaos.
Do you think you can survive in this world being a kind person to everyone ?

realizing this is meant for me to model for me. I need to be consistent* and considerate to my own self, and keep communicating with my subconscious (eg journaling).

Maturity sounds exhausting. I guess the opposite does too.
Need want desire. Amen

😭 what a last sentence 👑
People send me the Hoteppiest DMs sometimes. It's fascinating to me how I'm perceived by some people. I'm just a square ass pan-African hood nigga that sporadically reads books. I don't believe we were originally green and the victims of the Tuskegee experiment already had syphilis, my nigga.

In order for people to believe the world can be different we have to spark their imaginations. They are defunding arts programs because they don’t want us to believe we can create anything. We can change whatever we believe we can.

I need ministers of music and choir directors to roll their repertoire back to full mass choir and/or ensemble gospel. Praise & worship ain't gonna cut it this year.
