Slowly creating a 12 acre nature reserve here in Suffolk, UK as antidote to collapse awareness.
Christmas greetings! As it's also my birthday we've dropped in at the meadow this morning & planted some little oaks that the grandchildren of a Rabble singer grew. Here's to healthy life & growth for us all in 2026 💚

Haven't managed to decorate the house this year, been just too busy. Just picked some of the flowers & plants in the garden & going with that instead.

1000x this👇It would be ok if we collectively shared a clear eyed POV that we would keep extracting just enough fossil fuels to make up the difference with renewables until they could fully meet end-use demand. But we don't, renewables investment is insufficient, and this is going to end badly.
Fun exchange here illustrating a deeper point: Technology for drilling is advancing fast, but it's fighting against depletion. Technology for renewables is advancing fast, leading to rapid cost reductions. The latter set of techs will win.
Short version: Punching deep holes in the earth to get stuff out is getting steadily cheaper, sealing them afterwards to make sure nothing leaks is expensive. Drill less holes.

We had a great final gig of the year last night, including a visit from the Christmas dinosaur guest conductor and raised £2009 for a great local charity. A few weeks off now to recharge & plan for next year's repertoire, phew. 😁

We have cute guests living in our stored tree tubes 😁

We have approx 300 people attending our charity gig on Sunday, there is a big pub in the centre of town right near it. We asked if they could be open for 8pm-ish afterwards when everyone piles out & wants to socialise & drink.
No.
This is another reason rural pubs are dying 🤷🏼‍♀️

Crack willow doing it's thang.
I'm not there's actually a single safe mature tree along our Riparian strip at this point so I'm always hyperaware & listening out for warning creaks down there 😆

A lovely Christmas singalong in Woodbridge with Rabble & members of the public & raising money for a local charity. We also had the guest appearance of a Christmas dinosaur which will make sense to those who know our version of It Came Upon The Midnight Clear...

I've had an offer from a falconer to use their Harris Hawk to hunt the pheasants infesting our nature project & I can't decide what to do. If they aren't there that day might it hunt out our Little Owls instead? Hmmm.

Huh, another case for lacing the water supply, as apparently makes people more likely to want to save nature & biodiversity too...

A white supremacist took MDMA for a study, and it snapped him out of his beliefs: 'Why am I doing this?'
30 minutes after taking the MDMA pill, Brendan questioned his actions and realized his life was missing connection.

Lots of the short clips from the National Emergency Briefing available on YouTube. Worth watching. This one is on UK National Security. Sobering stuff.

Put up some little perches in the field shelter for our various owls to use, they seem popular. Now just need something underneath to catch all the pellets & copious amounts of crap they leave for us 😁

Well done to everyone who came out and sang at Saxmundham yesterday, the forecast is looking pretty terrible for our big Christmas singalong in Woodbridge today unfortunately! May have to reschedule...

Last week there was a National Emergency Briefing featuring experts on UK national security, food security, health, Environment etc.
Zero mainstream media coverage, you simply aren't being told about this stuff.

Very much worth your time to watch this sunmary & share.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Beautiful day today and our scrape is holding water for the first time this winter. Its ecosystem is still evolving from what it was pre-2021 so it's an interesting patch to keep an eye on.

Only people of a certain age will remember Mr Ben & why I thought this was so cool.
Stayed in a hotel in the New Forest last night which is connected to a French restaurant & this is the sneaky back door from the hotel corridor into it! Felt like stepping into Paris 💚
