Slowly creating a 12 acre nature reserve here in Suffolk, UK as antidote to collapse awareness.
I grew up in farmhouse that had wallcharts of livestock breeds, crop planting times etc all around the downstairs loo. As a result I'm usually ok on spotting different breeds 😆 but didn't know this very cute one - Kerry Hill sheep being grazed locally, love their faces!

See that ginger speck in the distance? That's Bazz refusing to walk down the same path we walk down perfectly fine pretty much every morning first thing.
He heard the hunt hounds baying & the kennel man yell at them & that makes him anxious. Apparently me attaching a lead to him fixes that 🤷🤦#dogs

I might faint, I actually got a reply from my MP. It was standard c&p blurb that I expect he sent out to lots of us but still.
I wonder if he’ll now reply to my reply which corrected him on the out of date info he included on UK Gini coefficient & ‘sustainable’ aviation fuel 🧐

Some of the stray dogs living near Chernobyl have recently turned blue. This confused scientists for weeks, until they realized they had simply been rolling around in chemicals from a nearby set of portable toilets. 14/10 for all

Six new Wild Service trees going in. Otherwise known as 'Chequers' trees, for which one of the local pubs, amongst many others around the country, was named. Produces fruit and is completely native but not seen much any more so doing our bit to repopulate!

Fascinating reading today's article on the film #ChristmasKarma (see quote) & the noise #Reform are already making about its diverse cast, then compare with the final cast in the public hit #CelebrityTraitors.
Seems to me the public are way more progressive than both the film industry & Reform.

Excellent
Sir David Attenborough has backed a £30 million campaign to buy and rewild the 15-square-mile Rothbury Estate in Northumberland, a former grouse moor once owned by Lord Max Percy. The Wildlife Trusts aim to restore its bogs, woodlands, and farmland, creating a 40-mile wildlife corridor.

Pouring with rain today, glad we spent hours on Sat mowing & raking & chain harrowing this before sowing wildflower seeds, perfect timing. Soil might still be too over improved & need more seasons of raking off but worth a try. All the seeds were collected free locally so we'll wait & see...

King moldwarp rises! Moldwarp is the old Middle English name for a mole, it appears briefly in Shakespeare's Henry IV, discussing old Welsh stories "Of the moldwarp, and the ant, Of the dreamer Merlin and his prophecies".

Oh no! RIP Jane Goodall, such an inspiration. Many years ago I was lucky enough to visit Gombe where she did her groundbreaking research with chimpanzees and meet some of her staff & the chimps she worked with.
Such a brilliant, intuitive, empathic mind lost to the world.
