#weightshaming is for everyone! Med asst at the infusion center observed I'd gained some weight, "but don't worry, it's just a little over a pound."

That's right, I'm up to 99 lbs in boots & coat and it's...a problem? Not, "Hey, that's healthier," just "Don't cry"?

Worse, I made excuses for it!

Overheard:

"I do urban contemporary ballet." Pause."URBAN contemporary ballet."

Puts suburban strip-mall barre class right in its place, that does.

Late to the #maskban awareness and now very afraid, as a frequent wearer myself. Going crazy with reposts a d likes. Berkeley is a bubble, but the CA governor is out there personally rousting the unhoused, so who knows?

Police are not medical professionals. They’re not entitled to our medical information - nor are they trained to understand it.

Mask bans lead to harm. Ppl - especially those marginalized & POC - will be forced to remove mask or face arrest.

Mask bans — & all forms of pandemic neglect, including folks who’re capable of masking not doing so — are tools of fascism that weaponize illness, disability, & violence. They harm marginalized groups first: BIPOC, trans, etc.

Don’t want to serve that agenda?

Wear an n95 in public.

BREAKING: U.S. Hits 1 Million Daily COVID-19 Infections

Recent wastewater surveillance data indicates that daily COVID-19 infections in the U.S. have soared to 1 million.

In areas with new mask bans, use exemption letters to keep wearing masks.

Insert joke here about toxoplasmosis making me into a zombie, like a parasitic wasp...I let the cat (Thunder) drive. This is a very regular occurance. I walk around the house and wait for her to decamp onto the scratcher. She enjoys her power.

Just finished the audiobook of We Used to Live Here; surpassed my expectations (went in knowing nothing). Now know it is Some Big Deal on reddit.

Excellent horror read/listen.

Aetna denied a surgery claim due to “coverage coordination.” I don’t have other coverage, but I might! just have to call them periodically and assure them I’m not getting some on the side. FFS. Paid my OOP long ago. As if I could even have surgery without preauth.

What I get from this article is you need to be able to play the piano with your toes or have feet like Alien Harry on #ResidentAlien if you don't want to fall and not get up.

People say scientists are serious but marine biologists will spend hours quietly sitting around tables drawing on styrofoam cups and then tying said cups to deep sea submarines

Because ocean pressure will squeeze the air from the cups

And we are but human & we want tiny cup

Poll:

What's more exhausting? Your actual #chronicillness, or managing everything around it: appointments, refills that never seem to be ready until your supply is almost out, preauths every six months (also just under the wire, worrying about refusal?

Add to the list. If you have the energy.

Pulmonologist said nothing's wrong (aside from the, ahem, known knowns) with my lungs, so maybe it's my "mood" impacting my health. Unsure whether to be heartened by any recognition of mind/body connection or extremely pissed (hysterical? rabid?) at being told it's in my head.

Haul of hold from the library today. 2/3 finished with House of Horror already; should I go to Tremblay next, for continuity, or a different direction?

Normally do audio for horror, but the library isn’t getting as many lately (high costs of e-audio,possibly).
