The usual issues with AI aside, Sega is not ready for what would become of Sonic and friends if AI models become trained on Sonic fanart.
Sega has told investors that it will “pursue efficiency improvements, such as leveraging AI” in future game development.
The company is aware of its risk, however: "...as AI adoption can face strong resistance in creative areas… we will proceed by carefully assess [sic] appropriate use cases."

Interesting to note we didn't need constant executive orders to promote "woke"/progressive ideas. They just kinda grew from social pressure, a myriad of small groups, and (of course) profit driven corps that gave in when the smelled cash.
