Jewel slowly walks up to Surge, only having been vaguely listening to the whole conversation, but knowing at the very least that Tails and Belle were off on an important assignment. Once she’s close enough to be heard without shouting, she says, “You two are cute together.” “HUH? WHAT? NO?” Surge jolts away from Jewel, who kind of just appeared out of nowhere from Surge’s perspective. “I hate that little twerp, the fuck are you talking about!? Also! That would NOT be cute, that would be the ugliest pairing of two individuals on earth!” Surge is blushing very hard as she says all of this. “Oh!” Jewel tilts her head. “Sorry, I suppose I just assumed. You both just have such strong chemistry!” Surge stares at Jewel with wide-eyed horror as she shouts, “YOU’RE INSANE!!!” Which is a good first step in spending time with someone you wanna ask out! This is good. Surge is doing an awesome job.

Elise cannot believe how easy it is to fool him into believing her amnesia by just appending ‘from what I’ve heard’ to everything she says about him. Or maybe he’s just choosing to believe the reality that he prefers… Before Elise can leave to privately psychoanalyze her teenaged self, however, the table that she and Sonic had been standing near flips onto its side, Sticks having jolted to a full stand and knocked it over from underneath. “Amy’s in trouble!” she shouts as the ladies-in-waiting scramble to clean up her mess. “What?” Sonic gives Sticks his undivided attention. “What do you–” “My Amy senses are tingling!” Sticks screams, “WE GOTTA GO!” And then she runs off towards the door without any further explanation.
