Is mouth harp becoming a 'thing' in metal? I've heard two songs recently from two different bands from two ostensibly different spheres that both feature mouth harp, which isn't a lot, but it's still weird that it happened twice.

what are the odds the 'nobel peace prize' he got was just 3-d printed or like a hannukah gelt version

This teaser track bodes well for the rest of the album, but I could do without whatever the hell it is that happens at 2:29 #metalsky

Not for nothing, but $15 for an advance ticket plus $0.75 to cover the Ampwall fees? For four bands, one of which is Chained to the Bottom of the fucking Ocean??

Say LESS. #metalsky
Moros' album release show is going to be fire. Philly live metal is coming out both barrels blazing in 2026. #metalsky

R I F F S. This black metal band from Roanoke VA has a studio album too but the live album has a couple extra numbers plus a Celtic Frost cover. Probably could have made my AOTY list for 2025 if I had known about it two weeks ago! #metalsky #blackmetalsky

The sentence "I couldn't take a picture because I left my phone in the car" is still grammatically correct but makes no fucking sense.
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

Unlike you, I actually did have this on my 2026 bingo card.

I've been an Evernote user since 2008, and a paying customer for most of those years. Reasonable price increases are to be expected, especially over such a long time, but the jump between 2023 and now is a dealbreaker for me.
This is why I believe people will be leaving Evernote in droves in the coming weeks and months. I should have jumped ship last Jan, but the increase from $137/year to $265, just to maintain my current level of service and enable their AI enshittification, is where I get off. Diabolical work.

I'm aware of a lot of the alternatives - Amplenote, Notion, Obsidian, Joplin, Notesnook. Anyone have first-hand experience with any of these?

Primary needs: plain-text notes, PDF storage, Android app, sync across 4+ devices, prefer ability to separate notebooks/notes w/in app (work, home, etc.)
Woke up on New Year's Day to an email from #Evernote telling me my annual subscription is jumping 55% when it renews at the end of the month. Choke on shit and hair. (1/2)

"You would make a good cartoon character" - one of my tenth-grade students, about 20 years ago.

I took it as a compliment, anyway.
Forget insults, what’s the most unhinged *compliment* you’ve ever received?

Hey Bluesky - anyone who uses Mp3 players separate and aside from your cell phone - what are some of the benefits you found to having a separate device just for music?

Right now I have more than enough space on my phone for all my downloaded music (~86GB on a 512GB phone).

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeit. Was just talking today about doing a Wire re-watch with my son, who's never seen it.

I made an absurdly inoffensive joke about being woke and somebody with 500 wave emojis in their profile decided to take me to task.

Also, I said I didn't care for the Blood Incantation album.
What’s the funniest reason someone got mad at you on Bluesky this year?

I played live with a band for the first time in about 20 years. Did 3 gigs between August and October, one of which was a pretty big music festival in PA.

I was just filling in, but now I got bit by the bug again. BAD.
Every year around this time I do the same thread and it has been a lot of fun.

Tell me something you did in 2025 that you're proud of that you want everyone to know about. Did you write a book? Did you get a promotion? Did you survive the year?

I want to spend the end of the year celebrating you.
