No longer a lost Nova Scotian. Teaching Fellow, Saint Mary's University.
Just noticed that a prominent publisher is attributing an article I wrote for them to a different author...This required someone to go in and make the change. The new (and false) author they list happens to be a copy editor at a popular American newspaper. Wonder if my work was on their CV?

Donors in Canada take note
The magic word here is “unrestricted” — which is to say, the donor isn’t setting an agenda or making a big fancy monument to themselves, but letting the institution use the funds for the actual, practical needs.

Patricia Hill Collins poses an important question for many academics pursuing social transformation. "How does one sustain a project that is explicitly dedicated to social transformation within an institution that has minimal interest in that expressed outcome?"

Oh, hey! I’m still on strike as a CUPE Part-Time professor at SMU. Here’s a fun little graphic: according to Maclean’s Magazine, SMU is ranked #3 in Canada for small universities.

How does the PT pay for faculty compare across the top 10 schools?

Oh. Oh dear.
