#NL1331 come to our fair snowbound city and give us a reason to leave our toasty homes and brave the icy winds.

The big question looming over us is ”what will the Generals do if Trump orders them to attack Greenland.“ If I were a General I think I would demand that Congress declare war first. It‘s in the Constitution, which they are sworn to uphold.

Suddenly I feel hope. Go Bills!

#Ingress Rochester, NY would love a virtual NL- 1331. We’d pull in people from Buffalo and Syracuse. Or pick one of those cities and I’ll travel.

Trump’s central American policy makes sense if you believe that Trump only cares about immigration of brown people into the US. Honduras and Mexico have more illegal entries, but ICE can take care of that. Venezuela tops the asylum list by a lot. Cuba is next.

The current conversation around vaccines is all about the risk to children, but as vaccination wanes we’re developing a cohort of unvaccinated teens and adults who have no immunity to diseases, and who are at far greater risk of complications. Eventually they’ll be exposed - but it’ll be random.

Greenland is the bright, shiny object that Trump waves in front of the Media when scandal threatens him too closely. It replaces a real issue with one which his base will simply laugh off.

Through either a typo in the database or a brilliant marketing ploy, Walgreens has priced the 32 oz bag of chicken jerky dog treats at $5 less than the 25oz bag. It’s been that way for months. I scored two yesterday on a BOGO.

Medicare should be extended to all children 18 and younger, and honestly this should be a no- brainer which appeals to people across the political spectrum. Children are our future! They don’t work and they can need a lot of medical care early in life.

#genealogy This extrapolates to all people. There is no time for the children of immigrants to hate new immigrants. It's not only hypocrisy, it's cruel. Learn about your family and you'll see the parallels. #irish

Excellent idea.
The Boston Tea Party was December 16, 1773. Should Dec 16 be a celebration of our history of protest, civil disobedience?

Fall in New York. Goldenrod, Poke berries and a field of yellowing kidney beans. One glorious sunny day after another. We’re in the midst of a New York drought, which means that its only rained a few times in the last month. I expect it’ll be a great year for finger lakes wine.

Last year I was able to get a half-pint of elderberry syrup from the elderberries I planted 4 years ago, and I was pretty happy about that. Enough to have over ice cream occasionally. This year I made just under 2 quarts, and the progression is a bit ominous.

At a dog friendly cafe, and the golden at the next table is staring fixedly at the family with toddlers and making more or less surreptitious forays under their table

I listened to ACIP vote on a new RSV monoclonal antibody for newborns, which passed 5-2. It was also added to Vaccines for Children so it will be available regardless of insurance, 7-0. I think its very different to be a paid vaccine skeptic, and to publically vote in a way that endangers babies.

Talking to my Mom about LGBTQ issues and her senior community. I think the most effective slogan going forward might be Mind Your Business. Does what people might be doing in their own bedrooms make you uncomfortable? Well, Mind Your Business.

The Erie canal in Bushnell’s Basin is lined with black locust trees in full flower. Trees 60-100’ high, bedecked and fragrant, the canal and towpath strewn with white petals

The way to make American goods more competitive is the same way most countries do it: public healthcare. American factories pay for health care. You buy a US product you pay for US healthcare. You buy a foreign product, and you don’t pay our healthcare costs.

My Mom and I had an interesting discussion on tariffs at lunch. She pointed out that building factories is hugely expensive, but companies do it because they believe a new factory (overseas) will make money over the long term.
