He has brought some clarity to the presidential campaign. He makes easier to distinguish between the absurdity meant purely for amusement and the abhorrent absurdity of most of today's political debates

Go Iran! It is inspiring to see citizens standing up and making their own demands for change. True, lasting transformation comes from within, without needing external interference to reclaim a country's future and resources. I'm moved by your courage!

The recent collapse of a high-profile journal is not just a scandal but hopefully a warning sign of a system that has drifted far away from its core mission.

Science belongs to everyone. Knowledge should flow freely, not be trapped behind paywalls, resold to the researchers who produce it, or silenced by costly publishing fees over unpaid work.
👇

We moved from an era where accessing science was forbidden due to expensive paywalls, to an era where publishing has become impossibly expensive! It is inaccessible to many researchers to publish without institutional backing or reserving significant percentage of science funding to pay publishing
👇

Authors pay $4,500 per article while journals publish 40+ papers per issue. Scientific publishing has become a billionaire industry built on unpaid editorial and peer-review labor. With automated and non-printed workflows the production costs are near zero and still using online ads along articles
👇

The journal Science of the Total Environment has now been removed from the Web of Science index! A dramatic fall triggered by editorial practices that inflated number of articles, including some approved through fake peer reviews.

I feel privileged that I never had to hate my neighbour, that I don’t need to paint over genocide to stay blind to it.
'Our Genocide': How do Israelis feel about the war in Gaza? – video
Reporter Matthew Cassel speaks to Israelis in Tel Aviv, to see what they think of the war, famine and genocide happening next door, and the growing international condemnation against it

This is deeply tragic. The destruction is overwhelming. An unbearable nightmare. Unacceptable and incomprehensible. The disregard for human life is horrifying. Killing by bombs was wrong, fostering famine is beyond any measure of decency.
So sad that it feels wrong to react to this post with a heart

What an interesting opinion piece, with a thought-provoking title! Are the most 'segregated' among us actually those who choose to isolate themselves in an elite bubble, unwilling to socialise with others? I believe that this is something far more widespread, not only UK.

To those who claim Israelis and Palestinians cannot live together: Anyone can live peacefully with their neighbor if they choose to. These artists have shown us even more — they create together, strengthen their voice as brothers, and prove what others call impossible. Listen to them! ✊

Have you ever needed to spatialize genetic distances without relying on models like niche modeling? I built #Phylin a few years ago, an R package for that! The original purpose was to produce #spatialdata bringing #evolutionary insights into conservation prioritization. 🌍🧬
