I'm a newbie comic artists but here's my two cents. And maybe it's not smth people are ready to hear but,
You NEED TO HAVE a good relationship with your art and the creative process FIRST.
Comics are HARD + time-consuming! And you have to accept that people will not like it or don't care.

I see a lot of "start with a small comic first" advice but I dont think scope is important. Or even skill level! What matters is if you enjoy art & stories and are a little insane about the comic you want to make. Comics are a subjective & idiosyncratic art form, and you may only appeal to a niche.

I've built a lot of confidence in myself & my work over the last years, and I've internalised that I dont need anyones approval to be myself and create the weird fucked up shit I want to make. Building an art career is hard these days + AI + censorship. Idk if there's any hope for me but we ballin'
