I don't like to talk about stories before they are fully reported, but I am writing on ICE in a Minnesota town that isn't Minneapolis. However bad you think it is, it is worse. It is a campaign of pure terror whose only strategic goal is more terror. There is no strategy other than to break people.

I just drove past an abandoned car, with the doors open. (wrong side of highway, others had already stopped.)
This is Minnesota. No one for any reason intentionally leaves their car on the side of the road w/the doors open in January
Please understand: nothing has changed here. Please tell people

Maria Santay, a U.S. citizen and community observer, live-streamed masked ICE agents detaining her after they boxed in her car from all sides and smashed her window. Local police showed up and did nothing.

She was denied access to a restroom, and forced to pee in the parking lot while handcuffed.

The shooting deaths of white protesters Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal officers in Minneapolis have followed a playbook that is painfully familiar to Black Americans

(1) In my political philosophy classes we read Patrick Henry, and I can't stop thinking about him this morning:

"The president at the head of his army can prescribe the terms on which he shall reign master, so far that it will puzzle any American ever to get his neck from under the galling yoke.
