The work done by Dr. Foster and her colleagues is so incredibly important. As a young repro justice scholar,I have learned SO much from her research. This is a terrible loss and I hope there is some private orgs willing to fill in the gaps.
News: Diana Greene Foster, the MacArthur-winning author of the Turnaway Study, learned her NIH grant — funding a multi-year study on Dobbs' impact — has been pulled. She was told its bc the govt won't study "gender identity."

Her work has shaped our understanding of abortion bans' consequences.
She was tracking post-Roe abortions. The government just pulled her funding.
Diana Greene Foster, who was behind the landmark Turnaway Study, wanted to study the health and economic impacts of the loss of abortion access.

🚨 🚨 🚨 the North Carolina state court is going along with Jefferson Griffins request to disenfranchise tens of thousands of NC voters by throwing out their votes. And thereby hand the seat on the NC SCT to Griffin when Justice Allison Riggs won the election. This is a HUGE deal.
🚨 BREAKING NEWS: the Republican-majority on the N.C. Court of Appeals rules to overturn the decision of the Wake County Superior Court (and the voters in the state) in a 2-1 decision to disenfranchise more than 65,000 voters from LAST year’s election. ⬇️

No better way to ensure the abortion rate will go up than to slash federal funding for family planning.

Sadly, this should shock absolutely no one.

We can, and must, do better.
Dozens more pregnant and postpartum women have died in Texas hospitals since the state banned abortion, our analysis shows.

As the maternal mortality rate dropped nationally, it rose in Texas by 33%.

- Are we at the top of the food chain? Even if we're vegetarians?
- How do we know when the Earth will die?
- What ecosystem do we live in?
- How many boyfriends did you have before dad? 😳

Any university that voluntarily shutters a DEI program, office or personnel “Because of Trumps Executive Order” is making a PR decision. Not a legal one.

Trumps EO does not change anti discrimination law. If anything, the EO is unlawful.

Universities should treat it that way.
