Enjoying Rogue Trader: ended a heretical rebellion on a planet, found a space station full of choir nerds caught in a perpetual scream because They Had Sung Too Much and unfortunately the only solution was to torch the place, now at another space station where the third eye nobility is truly warped.

I had a whole professional world I was a part of for a couple decades, a set of skills I had built up where I felt knowledgeable in the field, gave talks at conferences, talked with others doing so.
When I came out, I erased my previous social media presence because that no longer felt like me.

There’s a supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy, and right now the asteroid Vesta is essentially conjunct with that point in the sky, around 28 degree Sagittarius.
When looking towards the center of the galaxy, you’re going to see a lot of stars between us, the center and beyond.

A few more photos from tonight’s incredible #aurora. I’m fascinated by the amount of red light tonight. This is generated by oxygen molecules being excited by light plasma at least 600 km above the Earth. The green is also oxygen molecules, but much lower (100-250km). Definitely a great night.

The one thing I do appreciate about the US is that no other culture I have ever encountered would produce a folksong where the devil challenges a kid to a duel in an obvious morality play about hubris and then the kid just absolutely kicks his ass and wins the fiddle

Often when Ruffles jumps up to cuddle, Rosalyn will come up as well and then sometimes literally step on him, and rather than being a fan of that, he turns away and departs, so I make sure Rosalyn leaves as well.

This solar maximum might be scrambling my brain, does give lots of good light shows!
If you’ve been in a room and could hear the electronics? When there’s a lot of solar activity, like… my ears are buzzing right now.
Very pretty tho!

When I studied in Aberdeen, Scotland, Dunottar Castle–a bit south of there—was a fav excursion (3 times?).
Beautiful ruined castle on a peninsula. I also had a chance to visit Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, some similarities.
Fun fact: town of Dunottar is where fried Mars bar was first created!
