Hello! I am a cartoonist / pinup artist who likes making more vintage-esque pieces. Happy to be apart of this community!

An illustration of my characters Curley and Nellie carving out some pumpkins - Curley is clearly unhappy about having to be the one who removes the guts from each one they plan on carving, while Nellie cheekily smiles at him. The caption is from Curley's mouth: "Cut it out - at least you're not gutting out the pumpkins!" Over the course of six panels, we see a dreaming Curley get taken away from his home. As he wakes up, he soon finds himself looking at the planet Earth before being forcefully chucked down to it. The final panel reveals that Curley had still been dreaming the whole time, and that the hypnic jerk he had been experiencing caused him to fall right out of bed.

If you want to learn to make art, there are countless people out there willing to help you. The only thing is, you have to be willing to try. The AI pushers want what they perceive is the kudos for having made the art, but they don't want to try.

The "Frieren angle" thing, apart from just being delightful, also completely demolishes the pathetic "AI is democratising art" argument. Someone struggling with a difficult drawing received advice from hundreds of strangers who just wanted to help them improve their art.

Joke sketches of Curley and Nellie from a couple months back. Curley is designed and constructed more like a generic comic character from the 1910s, while Nellie has oddly realistic construction.

#3157 A helpful tutorial
A digital drawing of one of those drawing tutorials that says 'don't do this, do this.' The drawing is of an almost naked middle-aged man doing a flying kick. The 'Don't do this' one has a bunch of areas circled and a cross under it. The 'Do this' one is exactly the same but without the circles and a tick instead of a cross. The text reads 'Needlessly adding red circles will ruin your art' and a smaller bit of text at the bottom reads 'Bonus tip! Add a tick under all your art so people think you did it right.'

I struggle with this to the max. However, when working on your project be it animation, game, comic, or whatever you encounter stuff you can’t draw well… change it. Play to your strengths. Challenge yourself of course but not to the detriment of finishing the damn thing.

The downfall of MCU as the dominant tastemaker and box office force was not caused by Scorsese, over-saturation and poor planning and just plain human desire for novelty saw to that. But it’s easier to be angry at the allegedly pretentious filmmaker insulting the poor little billion dollar franchise

The slow collapse of this cultural juggernaut is going to be studied alongside the downfall of 1960s mega epics. It may come back from the grave but the must-see, can’t-miss aspect is very difficult to revive once it is gone.
