No more reposts or signal-boosts for people who screenshot text without a link. It’s 2025, and I am done even allowing for the possibility of good faith. You are denying readers context and depriving a writer and their outlet of any chance of profit, all for the sake of boosting your own clout. No.

Hey look, Israel broke the cease-fire, twice, in two different ways, within 24 hours - again.
NEW: Israel informed the UN it will permit only 300 aid trucks into Gaza daily, not the 600 mandated by the ceasefire it just signed.

Shoutouts to the bsky mod team for continually banning progressive voices without explanation, leading to ~24 hours where everyone calls them out for being dumbasses until they're inevitably reinstated. It's strange they've made that a routine, but it gives me someone new to follow every week or so

On one hand, the price-to-content discussion surrounding games lends itself to toxic derailment far too easily, and as such should be exercised with extreme caution

On the other hand, it can't be overstated how INSANE a launch price of $20 is for a product of this quantity and quality. Buy Silksong

Silksong is so goddamn good. Only now getting to play it because I was too invested in Look Outside for being so goddamn good

I'll admit that I wasn't too crazy about Gavin Newsom at first, but the AI generated memes and homophobic jokes from his supporters really won me over

Do you know about the importance of the thumb-travel range for a controller analog stick?

This new concept will change the way we play games with analog sticks. *I'm dead serious.*

It also opens the way for thumbstick emulation for more accurate retro gaming.

Air Riders looks INCREDIBLE so far, to a point it's almost dream-like. That is: this is how child me, hyperfixated on the original, would've imagined the sequel looking

LinkedIn might be the most net-negative social media platform I've ever seen. I've never once seen a "found this banger on LinkedIn" type post; the best it ever gets is self-deprecation like this

Does anyone ENJOY that platform? Has it ever served a function, or does everyone just pretend it does?
Somebody on LinkedIn said what we're all thinking.

I'm old enough to remember a year or two ago when both "we're not killing journalists that's illegal!" and "We're not bombing *hospitals* for god's sake" were major talking points. Violations of these things now no longer seem to even register.

Christ.

Porn and art with sexual themes deserve to exist on their own merit, not because censoring them has knock-on effects for non-sexual content. Please stop expressing outrage by implying that censorship would be okay if it *just* affected sex workers and artists engaging with sexual themes.

Finished Donkey Kong Bananza

A profoundly cathartic gameplay loop from beginning to end. The Odyssey team crafted a true elevation of a formula they've already knocked out of the park. I can't believe how much genuine effort and passion went into the story beats of their FIRST-PARTY 3D PLATFORMER

One of the best parts about Bananza that I'm not seeing much discussion of: every single button/trigger performs a *unique* action

It's not like Odyssey where half the inputs share a function, arbitrarily locking certain techniques behind motion controls; now every move is tied to a physical input

Bananza bosses feel like their own Dorkly parody, where the joke of a giant gorilla tearing into you in less than 10 seconds is literally the gameplay loop

I honestly (tee hee) think that the concept of a lie breaks something in the human brain. We know what lies are. We have experienced lies. But we're perpetually underprepared for actually recognizing and dealing with them.

Will elaborate in subsequent posts.
Starting to feel like most humans aren’t equipped to deal with something that confidently lies and communicates those lies with a fluency almost no actual humans possess
This is fascinating: www.reddit.com/r/OpenAI/s/I...

Someone “worked on a book with ChatGPT” for weeks and then sought help on Reddit when they couldn’t download the file. Redditors helped them realized ChatGPT had just been roleplaying/lying and there was no file/book…
