Last night I dreamt that Rick and Alan Bishop of the Sun City Girls had a new band called Dim Sum and they were going to be playing a strip mall near where I live.

The president of the US is a pathological liar, a vicious sadist, a vile misogynist, a convicted criminal, an alleged child rapist, a gutter-level racist, and a traitor.

While driving last night, I heard this song on the radio, immediately followed by “Blues Connotation”. It’s been decades since I heard Ornette on the radio, and then I got two in a row. Lucky night!

I had a dream it was the 80s, but I was in my twenties. Lost in a strange big city, I met Rosanna Arquette, who took me under her wing. She took me to some sort of gathering where she introduced me to her friends William S. Burroughs, Spalding Gray and Pee-Wee Herman.

Join the fight against government regulations on the books that you and your family are allowed to read in the United States by signing the petition today.

PETITION: Don't Ban Books in the United States
Proposed censorship measures in several states could deny your right to read some books in our Nation's libraries and lead to librarians facing criminal charges for the books on the shelves.

Crocus Behemoth, aka David Thomas, has died. This seems like a good time to mention my suspicion that the first three Pere Ubu singles represent the greatest trilogy of consecutive singles ever by anyone. Am I wrong?

I am always struck by the belief that any human’s rights can be determined by whether other people agree they should have them or not — especially in a nation that believes its exceptionalism derived from its codifying of innate rights.

Think hard about people who are opposed to inclusion and equality. Are we editing the Declaration of Independence? Has anyone checked on if it's been outlawed as wrongthink, yet? Are your enemies teachers and scientists? Librarians and doctors? You might be doing it wrong is all I'm saying.

The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term. The whole archive is fully searchable. This effort's housed by a donation-funded nonprofit, not a branch of the US government. blog.archive.org/2024/05/08/e...

If you're reeling from Trump's ongoing attacks, please check out my latest piece about what trans people are up against and how we (as in, all of us, including doctors and clinicians) can resist these assaults. Includes commentary from @dreanyc123.bsky.social and @deanspade.bsky.social.
Trump's Latest Anti-Trans Actions and How We Can Fight Back
The message should be clear among all people of conscience: We will not cooperate with the fascist, anti-trans agenda.

Saw A Complete Unknown last week. If you feel that an artist whose best work is complex, deep, and even visionary should be celebrated by a film which is simplistic, shallow and uncreative, this movie is perfect for you.
