Let's get real. The only people calling Kurosawa movies "homework" are racist fucksticks who don't like movies that aren't in English. At the end of it, that's all it ever is.

Hi editor pals! In 2026 I'd love to start writing for some new publications. Film critic and video essay writer originally from Mumbai, now in NYC, and always at film festivals (Sundance, Berlin, SXSW and Cannes next). More about me and some work samples: www.siddhantadlakha.com

In 2026, you’ll likely see less “first-time watches” from me and notice way more rewatches/revisits of films. Something I’m working on this year is actually cracking open the latest physical media I bought this past year, taking time to read the booklets and comb through the special features.

An absolutely wonderful, versatile, powerful and powerfully funny actor who enlivened everything he was in, and a huge loss. I'm not going to say the word, but we're all thinking it in his honor. RIP Isiah Whitlock. deadline.com/2025/12/isia...

@prestomit.bsky.social and I have been wanting to do a Gerwig Little Women episode for years. And it fits perfectly with Phantom Thread in the sense of texture and family relationships.
Lindsay was kind enough, as she always is, to invite onto this week’s latest @schlockandawe1.bsky.social episode to discuss Paul Thomas Anderson’s PHANTOM THREAD, Greta Gerwig’s LITTLE WOMEN and the state of melodramas in the 2010s. Hope listeners enjoy the discussion as much as us!
New S&A Episode! Lindsay & @prestomit.bsky.social celebrate the upcoming New Year's with a Modern Melodrama Double. Phantom Thread & Little Women (2019). It's all fabric and nostalgia

Unfollowed Letterboxd users for dropping several negative reviews in a row. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but if you’re not enjoying most of the work you subject yourself to, there’s a bigger problem than movies being mid/bad. I don’t need to see that kind of energy in 2026.
