So many amazing performances throughout an illustrious career. To honor him, I feel moved to share this scene from 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘪 (1979). My father still quotes it before meals to this very day:

Loved how Clarice was visibly scared as she decided to stay with Catherine Martin & take Buffalo Bill on. She would rather be anywhere else but that would be leaving a fellow woman to die. She’s still one of the most complex, vulnerable, smart & brave female protagonists in genre cinema.

you can tell it came out of poverty row but !! it uses it to its advantage because it is so streamlined it becomes its greatest asset in terms of pacing and focus.
