There must be zero tolerance for violence — of any kind — against the brave men and women in uniform who selflessly serve our communities and our country. The shooting of National Guard members in Washington, D.C. is horrific and unacceptable.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Home Depot could implement a policy requiring ICE to present a judicial warrant before operating on its property. Businesses are fully within their rights to decide who is allowed on their premises.

Mike Johnson's official bio says he has "two decades of previous experience in Constitutional law." Yet, when Trump threatens to execute Democratic members of Congress, he suddenly has no opinion.

This is what shameful cowardice does to someone like Johnson and it is how he will be remembered.
Mike Johnson on Trump calling for Democrats to be executed: "Attorneys have to parse the language and determine all that."

Total BS. Data behind these numbers does not magically disappear if not measured until a few weeks after the normal collection date. Deliberate obfuscation of important information because it doesn’t fit neatly into the president’s narrative of lies and fantasy.

Funny. when the Catholic church scandal broke they were saying little boys and altar boys not underage men. But now that it is politicians they are saying underage women, not little girls. Language matters.

If you are able to look at this and still not see the Gestapo. You have not only failed at the Christian you say you are.
You have failed at being a human.
You are the person who turned away when children were being murdered in gas chambers.
It didn’t start in gas chambers.

Elon Musk’s new pay package could amount to $100B per year.

That's the same as 3.2 million cashiers’ paychecks combined.

It’s more than 1.4 million elementary school teachers’ paychecks.

It’s more than 2 million janitors’ paychecks.

Billionaire greed is out of control.

A reminder: The Attorney General of the United States should be the people's lawyer, not the president's personal attorney. The Department of Justice should act to protect the public, not just the occupant of the Oval Office and his political allies.

The Canadian media is trying to spin the passing of Carney’s budget as a loss. They’re disappointed he didn’t go on bended knee to persuade the opposition to vote for it. Instead he looked them in the eye and said, “This is the budget. Like it or lump it.” I’m looking at you Rosie Barton.

$2000 won’t buy you healthcare in the US.

$2000 won’t give you “negotiating power” with insurance companies.

A one time payment is not a healthcare plan.

It’s time for Medicare for all.
