Spring is here and I am still howling maybe it was not about the season… 🤔
My seasonal depression autobiography is going to be “Blue sky but no sun, and other upstate New York quirks that makes me howl into the void-that-is-the-time-warp till it is Spring”.

Went to a comedy roast show (meh) where AI projects get roasted by comedians and to my horror, saw actual (bad) projects by people untethered to reality. They all wanted AI chatbots to replace doctors, sales reps, rather than actually do something cool. Tech got SO BORING so quickly.

Gaurav Mukherjee @gauravmkjee.bsky.social writes: “private disestablishment seeks to leverage the hybrid nature of charter schools to secure public funding for religious institutions while avoiding the constitutional obligations typically imposed on public entities.”

America’s First Religious Public School?
This past Friday, the Supreme Court granted cert in a case that concerns the first religious charter school in the United States. But this case is not merely about school choice or religious freedom…

On the dissection of the unclaimed bodies of the poor… Why do we not round up the bodies of the rich as well as those of the poor when they die without a will or next of kin? Why do only the wealthy need to sign consent forms for body donation?

Gabby Baratier, one of our students at Union College’s History Department, has created a wonderful LGBTQ+ map of the historic district of Stockade in Schenectady. For those of you who have watched HBO’s The Gilded Age, you’ll know this neighborhood! Check it out here:
