I hate and despise Clegg with more vigour than you can imagine.
His idiotic coalition with Cameron was a disaster for the UK.
It screwed the country, it screwed the Lib Dem party, and it ultimately led to Brexit.
The man is a toxic, two faced imbecile who can't be trusted in any way.
"I just think there's no evidence that scrolling on a social media app changes who you vote for."

Nick Clegg - Meta’s former VP of Global Affairs - rejects the idea that social media directly influences voters.

@maitlis.bsky.social
I don't think Reform are trustworthy enough to build bridges with any organisation.
Their end will collapse.
This is the most alarming story I’ve read today. Giving up the fight before it’s started
November 30, 2025 at 4:43 PM
That is actually a very good rule.
Shame it won't be adopted by all the other parties.
Your Party members vote that those who hold public office in Parliament "cannot accept gifts, donation for exchange of services above a certain amount, or work second jobs"

I have 3 UK political Christmas wishes :-
1) Sack Reeves and install a new chancellor who will be a bit more bold, and imaginative.
2) Sack Sweeting, and install a health secretary who will call a stop to NHS privatisation.
3) Make a pledge to start negotiating whatever is needed to rejoin the EU.

Don't forget, everyone who signed the recent petition for an enquiry into Russian influence in our politics, there was one 5 years ago, that Johnson sat o whilst in No. 10
As Russian influence seems topical again. I'm reposting my original precis of the redacted Russia Report from 2020.

Regardless of rosette colour, politicians taking Russian money, espBoJo, betrayed an entire nation. Betrayed by gov't & failed by security forces.

Ohhh dear.
Looks like Jeremy's organisation skills will have to be called out again.
Chaos has engulfed the first 24 hours of the inaugural 'Your Party' conference in Liverpool, with Zarah Sultana boycotting the first day of the event, Jeremy Corbyn facing "witch-hunt" allegations, and an entryism row

I get the feeling that Jeremy likes to pretend he is in charge.

"Star Columnist" is stretching things a bit.
I would go for "Untidy, lying, toe-rag"
Lying in politics is wrong and should never be rewarded, says newspaper which pays Boris Johnson £1 million a year to be its star columnist

Those on the very left of socialism / communism have never been coordinated. They enjoy the struggle.
I've counted literature for eight different socialist/communist factions and parties at Your Party conference so far. Plus Zarah Sultana rally leaflets.

No leaflets for Your Party itself yet...

These were nearly all under one chair, at one event.

Some say Jeremy Corbyn is too non-committal for project to work, while others blame Zarah Sultana’s combative nature

That Birmingham Mail clip is ten years old.
November 27, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Absolutely.
I haven't been on there in over a year, probably nearer 2 years.
Begs the question why is anyone, especially anyone in govt, still using that toxic platform?😡
Next time someone asks what's the matter with Musk's Twitter, show them this:
An account in India, amplifying a billionaire from South Africa being cheered by an Irish passport holder (using an alias) to encourage civil unrest in the UK.

Seeing claims that the BBC are not allowing journalists to repeat the line taken out of the Reeth lecture, to be given by Rutger Bregman.
He claimed that Trump was “the most openly corrupt president in American history”
It was removed without his consent.

Yes indeed.
Our NHS system isn't perfect, but its light years better than the USA.
Canada here - hahaha. For years your Healthcare companies brainwashed your people into believing Canadian universal/ socialized medicine, UK socialized medicine was so bad and the US was the best - yeah con job. You pay more than we do in taxes for it and have to pay deductibles- and you wait
November 27, 2025 at 7:39 AM
#Budget One thing Reeves hasn't done, is to announce a concerted clamp down on tax evasion and tax avoidance.
Both essential IMHO.

Was enjoying #Peston - Dan Neidle, John Mcdonald etc, quite varied and interesting.
Then Richard Tice. Spoilt the show. Off to bed.

Add to that, the atrocious performance of some Reform led councils is adding to the anti Farrage ammunition.
I just have this feeling that support for Reform and Nigel Farage is about to start decreasing. There are so many more questions about Nigel Farage's association with Russia and his past racism that have not been in the media or news until now. He is at last being scrutinised by our press and media.

Apparently Fartage is denying all the allegations which have been made against him recently (racist comments, bullying, etc) whilst he was at school.

No smoke without fire .... ?
Three more school contemporaries who claim to have witnessed Nigel Farage’s alleged teenage racism have rejected the Reform UK leader’s suggestion that it was “banter”, describing it as targeted, persistent and nasty.

Very good point Tom.
If we’re abolishing jury trials to save money, I do hope some thought has been given to the (quite complex) task of figuring out whether more trials by magistrates/judges would produce more convictions

If so, couldn’t the need more prison places could swallow the savings?

Yes, bullies never see themselves as a bully.
I suppose most racists don't see themselves as racist.
Farage mastered the art of fluffy racism at an early age and was so subtle that 100% of his victims never realised that he wasn’t being a nasty, toxic little racist fascist sh*t

That he was actually being a really nice, fun racist❗️🙄🙄
