VARNEY: The latest jobs report showed unemployment hitting 4 year high. You must be disappointed. Do you trust the numbers?

LORI CHAVEZ-DeREMER: When I look at the numbers, I think we saw a solid report

V: Interesting diplomatic move, to say a 4 year high for unemployment is actually good news

The next Democratic president, after he or she takes the oath of office in Jan, 2029, is gonna have so much fun undoing, rescinding, and reversing everything Trump has done via executive order. To my MAGA brothers & sisters, payback is a bitch. So is ignoring the Constitution.

We have the signatures needed to bring a vote to extend the ACA tax credits—but MAGA Mike is canceling votes for the rest of the week, turning his back on the American people.

Millions of Americans will soon see their health care premiums skyrocket because Republicans refuse to do their job.

1. He didn’t have the authority to change the name of The Dept of Defense, and he doesn’t have the authority to change the name of the Kennedy Center.

2. More importantly, he needs to be removed from office. He’s mentally unfit to be president, and he’s a clear & present danger to this country.

Massie: Previous presidents told us to go to war over WMDs that did not exist. Now it's the same playbook. Except we're told that drugs are the WMDs. If it were about drugs, we'd bomb Mexico or China or Colombia. This is about oil and regime change.

I’m not trying to be judgmental, but I feel that the people who now say they regret voting for Trump should have had a decent idea what he was all about before Nov 2024.

It’s crazy how the “Don’t tread on me!” and “Live free or die” crowd is fine with masked gangs of anonymous armed federal agents hassling, detaining, and assaulting people on the streets “papers please”-style.

This feels like the most basic freedom of not living in a fascist police state.
Here's interview with US citizen scanned by ICE's facial recognition tech. Walking home from gym, authorities come over. He says he's a citizen. Put him in car. Only release after scanning his face

How a US Citizen Was Scanned With ICE's Facial Recognition Tech
Jesus Gutiérrez told immigration agents he was a U.S. citizen. Only after they scanned his face, did the agents let him go.

It's a bad day all around and it hasn't even started yet.
(I met him and his wife, briefly, a few years ago. He was very engaging and nice and I was trying not to be gobsmacked talking to one of America's great talents.)
I'm still processing that Meathead is gone. And his wife in what appears to be truly tragic circumstances.

RIP

This is a day for going back to bed.

Rob Reiner: I'm going to make a coming of age drama, a fantasy adventure story, a romantic comedy, a psychological horror and then a courtroom drama.

Us: Across your entire career?

Reiner: In a 6 year period.

Us: That sounds-

Reiner: -Each one will be arguably the best movie in that genre.

Some of the best movies ever made were by Rob Reiner. They made us laugh and think: The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men. And he was a force on screen as well in All in the Family and so many films.

What a tragic loss. Words fail with news like this.
