If you’re less than 25 years old, you never experienced a situation in which all the people was present on the Earth at any time!

Since today 25 tears ago the Expedition 1 in the International Space Station began! What a feat for the whole humankind 🥰.

New book out soon! 📖 (Unfortunately only in Czech)

Planet of Melting Ice by Zdeněk Zvonek brings together 19 interviews with scientists from all sorts of fields — from biology to geology to social science — all united by one thing: their work in the polar regions. 🧊

Not only the Prague planetarium have the most modern LED projection in the world. They also do have these awesome mirrors on toilets! How cool is that?! 😍

This is an awesome accomplishment by our former student! So happy for him 🥹. @esa.int
The search for life on Mars.

That’s the main mission of Lucas Fernandez, a graduate of the Faculty of Science at the University of South Bohemia.

What a joke. If Trump really wanted America First then he wouldn't have proposed absolutely massacring NASA's budget. It's all bullshit.

What a disaster… 😩
Inspired by @jtuttlekeane.bsky.social and @ohdearz.bsky.social, here's what the White House proposed budget cuts to NASA would do to the entirety of the agency's Science Mission Directorate.

Bloodbath is right.

This is breathtaking 🤩.
Oh, hello Svalbard! A completely new perspective on "our" archipelago thanks to so-called framonauts from the board of the spaceship Crew Dragon.

Cool pictures of Luca Parmitano during the training in Orion mockup with his NASA collegaues.

They were practicing recovery procedures for the Artemis II astronauts for next year.

It is nice to see the @esa.int patch on Orion space suit! I guess Luca is first in the line for ESA Artemis seat. 🚀

Hello Crew-11! 👋

I am so happy for Zena Cardman. After getting bumped from Crew-9 she is finally going! And again as a commander.

Goodbye, Gaia.

China is starting to be serious space explorer.

Meanwhile NASA could loose 50% of its science budget (planetary exploration included).

What about Europe? We should throttle up!!
China has a planetary exploration roadmap focused on extraterrestrial life:
2028: Tianwen-3 Mars sample return
2029: Tianwen-4 to Jupiter and Callisto
2033: Venus atmospheric sample return
2038: Mars Research Station for ISRU
2039: Probe to Neptune and Triton

Have you ever seen something like this?! 🤯
American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg. theatln.tc/IuULQFiY
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

We are stoked to present a brand-new @natclimchange.bsky.social paper by our Jan Kavan! ❤️

Did you know that between 2000 and 2020, retreat of marine-terminating glaciers has exposed more than 2,400 km of new coastline in the Arctic?

Who is more humble? The scientist who looks at the universe with an open mind and accepts whatever the universe has to teach us, or somebody who says everything in this book must be considered the literal truth and never mind the fallibility of all the human beings involved?

NASA is facing enormous cuts, half of its science budget, under DOGE.

The impacts on the agency could be devastating, possibly including the cancellation of entire missions such as Hubble, Perseverance, and Voyager.

Story by me in New Scientist (free to read)

www.newscientist.com/article/2472...
NASA may have to cancel major space missions due to budget cuts
Potential cuts of up to 50 per cent of NASA's science budget could mean cancelling missions including the Hubble Space Telescope and the Voyager probes
