The most frustrating sentiment I keep hearing is the argument that small countries have no reason to militarize because they can't ever even hope to challenge a larger power. For swedish and finnish people this is a ridiculous thing to hear.

The cold war ended and it gave way to the hot peace. Authotarianism will try to delegitimize democracies yeat again. The russian and chinese propaganda machine is now deadset on disrupting the democratic process in Europe and North-America as well as in Asia.

Everybody in our corner of teh world is waiting for only the only question that matters: Will the Gävlebocken survive?

We have the chance of of the century to strengthen Europe and get a better position as a stabilizing factor in the world. Trump will basically sabotage the US economy and influence for the next 4 years. Who has the ability to replace them as the go-to entity? Who has the economic capacity to (1/2)

The mission of the EU has to be clear going forward. It cannot be "peace for our time". It has to be peace not just for the moment the future as well. Many european leaders are only looking months/years into the future when we need to think of decades.

The biggest question of the 2020's is who is actually the 'sick man' in the west. U.S has a great economy and an outright unfair military advantage which has been completely neutralized by it's domestic politics. EU has a decision to make: a) status-quo b)reform
