We all told you, NEVER take anything Chief O'Hara says as fact. He is ALWAYS disingenuous. Never will he have MPD protect citizens of #Minneapolis over ANY Law Enforcement, EVER.
MPD will say that in these situations they aren’t “assisting” ICE. But the fact of the matter is that their vision of “public safety” entails preventing folks from interfering with ICE operations. This might theoretically reduce violence against protestors, but only because *it helps ICE.*
Disheartening to see federal agents take two neighbors on 29th & Pillsbury. Chemical irritants were used on observers by them.
MPD showed up on scene, created a pathway for these federal agents to kidnap our neighbors, and assisted with controlling the space. Disappointing and heartbreaking.
