The station that proved you can milk decades of success superserving very angry people. Sorry for those losing their employment, but can't say I'll miss Radio Mambi. Besides, it's unlistenable here in PBC, unless you like electrical interference.

Listened to a few mins of Erick Erickson insisting that Medicare for All is dangerous because, I don't know, Communism, then Clay Travis & Sex Buckton explaining how war would be good because of lower oil prices and, I don't know, Communism. Talk radio, everybody!

Raul Malo died yesterday at 60. Incredible voice, singular talent. What a loss. We got to see/hear him at Tobacco Road in Miami in The Mavericks' last show before heading to Nashville to record their debut album.

Wrote another column. Nobody noticed. Story of my life, shouting fruitlessly from a window while the world passes by. Well, for the curious, here ya go: barrettmedia.com/2025/12/08/r...
Radio Could Have Evolved — It Just Didn’t
There’s still a public hunger for news; it’s just that we get it from a wider range of more convenient (and often free, like radio) sources.

The G.O.P.'s fundraising emails are getting more and more threatening. "COMPLETE AND TOTAL TERMINATION" of my "Top MAGA Patriot status"! Good thing I'm not a "Top MAGA Patriot" to begin with. Or any level MAGA. And there's no membership to renew, so...

Stephen King pulling the plug on his radio stations raises the question of whether we're just trying to raise the dead at this point. That's this week's column, which, according to the website, is a 3 minute read. Is it too much to ask you for 3 minutes? No. So:

New column, about how the world has changed but the news media has yet to catch up. Incidentally, I'm not sure if these social media promotion posts have any effect on readership anymore. Or I just suck. Either way, here's the link:
