As much as I despise how much Bsky have been shitting the bed lately, the bar artists (especially popular ones) put on any relatively small platform whether it is Bsky, Mastodon, Pillowfort, etc is always much MUCH higher than the one they put on anything owned by a fascist techbro.

the path Bluesky is taking was not inevitable. but it IS inevitable for venture capital platforms that want forever growth. Give user-funded platforms a chance so we can have a reliable lifeline.

All socmed blackouts historically have been pointless but there's really some special sight to respond to "we want freaks like you to stop posting so we can look good for fashy advertisers" with "fine you big meanie, we WILL stop posting and then you'll see you do miss us!" Do You Hear Yourselves
I'm not participating in a blackout because the point is moderation and others want me and those like me gone, and I would much rather continue to occupy the space I helped build rather than give everyone a chance to feel how much "better" it is without me. why wither when you can be a thorn.

Again: the entire reason they're doing this is out of fear, and particularly out of fear of backlash.
Best thing to do for artists, IMO, is not comply in advance, and then raise every kind of hell once they ban someone. Leverage their fear of a backlash by handing them an apocalyptic one.
