I want y’all to let Black men be as nuanced in their identity as they want. Let them be femme. Let them be masc. Let them be an amalgamation of both, AND give them the freedom to do so by embracing them and/or minding your own business. It’s that simple.

I fear that this generation and below aren’t equipped for boycotting like our predecessors. We are so comfortable with convenience and don’t have a strong understanding of community. Our predecessors relied on each other, while we live in the “what that gotta do with me” mentality.

I worked in East Midtown when I first got to New York. Where I work now in Brooklyn carries such a different energy. Obviously a lot more community based and I love that.
