Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

This feels a lot like that early period of Covid when some people were shouting about how bad it was going to be while guys like Trump and Musk were predicting it would be over by April.
Not a single international cargo ship at the Port of Seattle. The port is dead. The last ship from China will dock at a West coast port on the 29th, and the last Chinese ship will dock on the East coast around May 10th. After that, there will be no more shipments arriving from China. We’re screwed.

We no longer expect truth from politicians, fairness from employers, or diligence from delivery drivers. Yes, as humans we're flawed. But we also have the capacity to be better, every day. I'm not weary of those who aren't. I'm weary of those who don't try.
