Finally made the switch from Chrome to Firefox, loving it so far but the lack of support for Progressive Web Apps is disappointing. I expect this from Apple but not Mozilla

THE INTERNET IS BUILT ON LINKS
SHARE EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING
SPIN YOUR OWN INTERWEB

About links, bluesky loves them. Please unlearn the link-in-reply tricks you've been doing elsewhere and proudly share your blog posts, videos, or any other external link in your top posts so we can all go and visit your fancy websites and then get back here to discuss and repost them. Thanks!

Not only is X throttling external links, but it is also messing with its public pages. Without an account, you don't see the conversation if you go to a post. Instead, you get ads to sign up. If you visit profiles, the latest posts are not there. Useless for microblogging. Harmful to the open web.

Waking up to another Trump sidequest of pardoning Ross Ulbricht means we're definitely in the craziest timeline

There's nothing wrong with just using good old fashioned HTML, CSS and JavaScript for some websites. Not everything has to be a bloated framework and library heavy mess

Anyone else constantly terrified of saying something so dumb it could tank their career? I'm forever thinking of that tech reporter from The Independent who said there was 'seemingly no reason' WhatsApp capped group chats at 256 people. Just me? Cool...

My GPU has 45 billion transistors in it.

Like, we have this magic rock that we carved 45,000,000,000 miniature switches on it to create images of worlds that do not exist on a screen.

We really, really not appreciate enough how insanely magical technology is.

Today I learned that "mock service worker" is a JavaScript library, not an item on my todo list.

Relatedly, next on my todo list: I owe the coffee shop barista a massive apology.

The DOJ proposing to break up Google, with the current solution of selling Chrome, is quite frankly a surprising outcome. We're used to big tech wriggling out of these kinds of cases but I look forward to seeing a more dynamic search market and following how this will effect the web in the future

Domains acting as usernames and verification simultaneously is chef’s kiss design and possibly one of my favourite parts of Bluesky
