Feel genuinely bad for my opponent, who pulled off Bitterblossom Bearer/Mirrorweave Crown at the exact moment that it would kill him

Also a very myopic format, some of cEDH's most vocal boosters seem to truly believe it's larger and more relevant to players than regular Commander and treat every card designed and format decision made as though it's a poorly made cEDH decision rather than a decision made without considering them
I agree - additionally (as someone who was... in the middle of the community for like, 4 years) there are just way too many people who insist it be taken INCREDIBLY seriously AND that it has no problems when it is obviously silly & has a lot of problems & yet can be fun/interesting in spite of that

Strixhaven is interesting because I feel like before it was released, everybody rolled their eyes and thought it'd be dollar store Harry Potter, then it came out and everyone loved it, huge hit with fans, then as time passed people started dismissing it again as dollar store harry potter

Is there a way to like...get a refund for this? Dude's just sitting on every pack but releasing them just in time to not get sent into autodraft

Playing against the dominant deck in standard means getting slow punched by a grandma from a Nickelodeon cartoon while your opponent draws twenty cards and if this were a hypothetical someone made up for why they didn't like Universes Beyond I'd tell them to tone it down a little bit

I do not think it’s smart for the long term to imply that being Pro UB is progressive and anti UB is exclusionary. Massive oversimplification of a complex issue and one that paves the way for people mistaking consumerism for political engagement

Designed my own Jaws because why not?
"Shark smells blood" was a fine take but I wanted something that felt more evocative of the movie. Both an homage to the slow burn of the Jaws theme and a mechanical homage to the fact that everybody would've been fine if they just stayed out of the damn water

It's simple, just kill Alchemy, move its budget into digital universes within sets for each UB, eventually print a masters set of the big hits, effectively silence most of the loudest UB critics

Product fatigue stuff doesn't really phase me and the scalping stuff doesn't effect me too much but I am genuinely sad at what's been done to Standard in all this

Kept EDH data for a year! Game count was 123, win count was 37! If I were doing this again, I'd track less info about opponents (largely useless) and more about turn count and stuff. Unfortunately I will not be doing this again as it feels like homework!!
