I’m a big proponent of the idea that our politics lurk in most of our decisions but assigning such strong political affiliation to the consumerist faux-battleground of UB vs non UB is silly at best and manipulative at worst

There are people who want an inclusive game with a specific creative focus, there are racists who want as many IPs as possible and I actually think it’s kind of gross to use the implied spectre of minority persecution as a trump card in arguments about Spider-Man magic cards

You have no idea how quiet I'd be if there were universes within versions of big UB sets, I'd be like a lil mouse, not a dang peep

Like I think a lot of product fatigue stuff comes down to people having an uncomfortably addictive relationship to product, social media, or both, but seeing standard get flooded with new cards, some of which can only be played online through weird loopholes, just feels bad! I love standard!!
