Finally got around to watching A Doctor’s Sword. An unbelievable documentary about Cork doctor Aidan MacCarthy who served in WW2 and survived Dunkirk, Japanese POW camps and the atomic bomb hitting Nagasaki. Full documentary up on YouTube youtube.com/watch?v=OHx6...

That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are
The $82.5 million sale of "Hot Ones" studio First We Feast is part of a broader strategy at BuzzFeed to shift away from human editors, writers and content producers in favor of artificial intelligence, which result in "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."

Una Mullally: Politics is an attention economy, and Gerry Hutch got plenty of it
Hutch’s candidacy candidacy was met with an almost giggling immaturity, as though it was not serious, but sort of “gas”

Interesting to watch how this will play out

“Media executives are beginning to reckon with the reality that the 2024 race won’t bring a “Trump bump” to save ad budgets or bring back readers, listeners, and viewers.”

I only recently got around to watching Gaslit. Shocked at the lack of chatter about it. Brilliant series. Lots of standout performances, Sean Penn in particular
