Saying “My life sucks” is self-defeating and sad.
Saying “This isn’t the life Godzilla wants for me” is empowering, hilarious, and reminds you: Godzilla believes in you.

Iron Lung, a largely unheralded indie horror game adapted for the big screen by a YouTuber is a hit of a very modern kind, built on blood, sweat and parasocial relationships

This actually - I don't think I've ever said this - I didn't say it for Clinton or Obama - reminds me of Jack Kennedy.

"Reporter: Do any of you have a favorite animal?

Child: My favorite one is a gold snake that can move. It has gold eyes, and it has a super-duper tail…

Reporter: Mr. Mamdani, the second question for you.

Mamdani: Yes. It’s also the golden snake."

The post last night by President Trump about former President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama is racist, hateful and does not represent our country. This reprehensible rhetoric has no place in America — and certainly no place in our White House.

Easy to agree with Elie here. I don't think an "elections czar" will do it, but every state-level official who cares about democracy - and a battalion of lawyers - better buckle up for what's coming.
Trump and the Republicans are trying to rig the election. That's not being a "doomer," that's acknowledging reality.
Democrats need a coordinated, national response to these coordinated, national attacks. We need an "Elections Czar"
My latest solution in @thenation.com
Democrats Need to Get Serious About Stopping Trump From Rigging the Midterms
Here’s one idea for a coordinated response to Trump’s coordinated attacks.

The Epstein Files show extensive email contact between Jeffrey Epstein & the CEO of DP World 🌍📄—business favors, political intros, and dealmaking years after Epstein’s conviction. Presence ≠ guilt—but the access is telling.👀

The mainstream news media will never call Trump explicity racist. They'll always dodge the allegation. That's because the white people running the joints need to believe that there is a distinction between donig racist things and promoting racist polices, versus being *personally* racist.

Curious how the Epstein Files keep intersecting with powerful sports orgs 🧐🏈⚽🏅 NFL, FIFA, the Olympics—different games, same elite circles. Transparency matters. Who else is paying attention? 👀

The Founders feared kings & dictators. So they built barriers into the Constitution: divided power, checks, elections, and rights that limit government itself. Structure—not trust—protects liberty. 🧱⚖️

If the Epstein files reveal anything, it’s this: transparency alone isn’t reform. Real change means closing the loopholes that let wealth and power rewrite justice. Here’s what accountability should look like ⬇️⚖️

The Epstein files don’t just expose one criminal—they expose a system. A global network of wealth & power where rules bend, doors stay open, and consequences vanish. Justice can’t stop at “awareness.” It must mean accountability. ⚖️🔥

This behavior is below the dignity of the presidency, or the dignity of any self-respecting person in society frankly.

Republicans back a president they would never tell their own children to behave like.

TRUMP: You are so bad. You are the worst report. No wonder CNN has no ratings. She's a young woman. I don't think I've ever seen you smile. They should be ashamed of you.

I was just thinking the other day that if I made the rules, nobody in law enforcement would be able to display anything that looks like a skull or a stylized skull. No Punisher stuff, no skulls. None on anybody. Not a pin, patch, belt buckle, bumper sticker. No skulls.
This cannot be something a civilian law enforcement agent is allowed to wear in the US — and an agency that has a culture that tolerates this cannot be saved.
Fucking surreal that people dressed like this and carrying assault rifles are permitted to kidnap people off our streets
