This is my first attempt at focus stacking and studio photography, I built a whole janky light box and everything. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
This guy is a Punctured Tiger Beetle.

This is some kind of sawfly, not sure which one though. This was taken with Canon's 180mm macro lense which has been a blast to use

Got a flash diffuser for my camera, so I've been doing test shots with a cicada specimen I have and I'm soooo excited to get back outside and use it!

The second picture has the focal point on the compound eye so you can see the details

It needs to be spring already! I bought a fancy new macro lense and don't have much to take pictures of with the freezing temps here in CO. In the mean time though, here's an Ichneumon wasp I spotted last year. Pretty sure it's a Therion
circumflexum wasp.

Praying mantis are so much fun to take pictures of. Like jumping spiders, I feel like you can watch them think

This is one of the first pictures I got with my camera, a species of Grass Spider. I'm pretty sure from the genus Agelenopsis but not 100%. Ever since getting my Canon EOS 70D I've fallen in love with wildlife photography, especially on the macro scale.

Gotta love a good longhorn beetle, especially one as stunning as the Locust Borer (Megacyllene robiniae)

I really enjoy getting pictures of almost any hymenopteran. They are super misunderstood and very fun to watch. This is a species of Prionyx wasp I found last year!

Jumping spiders are one of my favorite subjects. Pretty certain this spider is in the genus Phidippus. I'm not sure of the species though, maybe it's a Bold Jumper?
