I've seen M. bicolor before, the handsome red and black ones (female and male); but there's another species native to the Keys, M. brunneus, the strange dark child with white eyes! Spotted him on the 1st trail we visited in the Keys 🖤

I've had many generations of these tiny arachnids from 2 females (they're parthenogenic) collected in a public park near Miami a few years ago, and happened to spot this one with her babies one evening. Delightful lump 🥹

In our visit to the Keys, I spotted one of my favorite tiny nugget creatures, an Aenasius encyrtid wasp, and a species I hadn't seen before (no idea which species, just different than the others I've seen, 3rd pic)! Perfect baby 🥹
